What is in the dataset
The fee schedules each platform publishes itself, transcribed from its own dated documents. Every rate states whether VAT is included, what it is charged on, when it took effect, and which document it was read from.

When a rate gets published
A wrong number in a dataset you are inviting people to cite is worse than a missing one, so the verification rule is strict and fixed.
- 1It comes from the platform’s own site — help centre, seller academy, fee policy, or a document those pages link to.
- 2That page or document carries a date.
- 3The VAT treatment is stated by the source, not inferred.
- 4A human opened the source and read the number off it, and the date they did is recorded.
If any of the four fails, the rate is omitted rather than estimated. That is why Lazada appears as ranges per category cluster rather than per sub-category: ranges are the form Lazada actually announces.
How category rows are collapsed
Shopee and TikTok Shop publish a rate per leaf sub-category — 1,437 and 1,947 of them. Rows here are collapsed to the shallowest node at which every descendant shares the same rate tuple, so a leaf’s rate is the rate of the deepest row whose path is a prefix of it. The collapse is lossless.
What this dataset does not contain
Nothing derived from DataGlass customer accounts. No contribution-margin benchmarks, no ACOS distributions, no take-rate medians, no shop counts. Only figures a platform has published itself.
